He is a five time NBA champion who has cemented his spot as one of the greatest pro basketball players ever, so you know Kobe Bryan career stats are going to be mind blowing. Looking at Kobe Bryant and his career stats, it is easy to see why he is so highly regarded. Bryant has found ways to dominate and stand out on talent-laden teams with the Los Angeles Lakers. These selected career stats serve as evidence for that ability:

  1. 25.3 points. Bryant's career scoring average does not adequately reflect just how much of a scoring machine he has been at different points in his career. He has averaged 30 points or better in three of his 15 seasons with the Lakers. It culminated in the 2005-06 when Bryant averaged a blistering 35.4 points per game to win the first of three consecutive NBA scoring titles. In 2006, Bryant scored a career-high 81 points against the Toronto Raptors. It stands as the second best single game performance in NBA history behind Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point effort in 1962. With 27,868 points, Bryant ranks sixth among the all-time NBA scoring leaders.
  2. 1,418 3-pointers. A deadly outside shooting touch has helped make Bryant tough to defend. He has long possessed the ability to drive to the basket or calmly step back and drain it from the perimeter. Bryant ranks 18th all-time among NBA players for three-point field goals made. That number is even better come playoff time. Bryant's 264 career 3-pointers in playoff games ranks 2nd all-time in the NBA.
  3. 7,026 free throws. Basketball fans who hate the Lakers would actually point to this number as a typical single season total for the number of trips Bryant takes to the foul line. Bryant may get the star treatment, but he definitely makes the most of it. His career free throw percentage stands at a robust 83.7 percent and he has made 7,026 career free throws - the sixth most all-time by any NBA player.
  4. 14 NBA records. Bryant holds 10 NBA records and shares four others. Among these records, he was the youngest player to eclipse 20,000 points and 25,000 points. Bryant also holds distinction as the youngest player to be named to an NBA All-Rookie Team or an NBA All-Defensive Team. He is also the only player in NBA history to have scored at least 600 points in the postseason for three consecutive years. Bryant achieved that feat from 2008 to 2010.
  5. 10 All-NBA Defensive Team selections. Bryant has earned a reputation as a shoot-first pass-second scoring machine. His 10 selections to the All-NBA defensive teams offers proof that Bryant is not a one-dimensional player. Eight of those times, Bryant was included on the first team - including a run of four consecutive first-team selections coming into the 2010-11 season. Bryant knows how to defend just as well as he can break down defenders on the other end. Being strong on both ends of the court is a big reason why he has five championship rings.
