Do you want to learn about Krav Maga vs Jiu Jitsu: which is better and what's the difference? Martial arts lovers all over the world have often asked the questions: Which is the better martial art between Krav Maga and Jiu Jitsu, and what is the difference between the two? This article will discuss the background and philosophies of each martial art, as well as their differences and similarities.

Krav Maga is  a versatile hand-to-hand system developed in Israel that utilizes grappling, wrestling and striking techniques. Krav Maga is known for its extremely efficient and powerful counter-attacks and is taught to elite special forces around the world. The point of Krav Maga is to subdue the enemy as quickly as possible. General principles of Krav Maga include counter-attacking your opponent as swiftly as possible and targeting attacks to the body's weakest points such as the eyes, jaw, throat and groin. In addition to using their bodies to fight, practitioners of Krav Maga are taught to use the environment as a weapon. This means learning to use any object nearby, from bottles to chairs, as a weapon-substitute.

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport  and system of self defense which focuses on ground grappling, choke holds and joint locks. Jiu Jitsu is  commonly used in mixed martial arts competitions. Jiu Jitsu is based on the premise that a smaller, weaker person can overcome bigger stronger opponents by using proper techniques and leverage. In Jiu Jitsu, the goal is for the practitioner to take his opponent to the ground and to defeat him using ground strikes, choke holds, joint locks and other submission techniques.

Krav Maga and Jui Jitsu have many things and common. They both emphasize taking down and neutralizing an opponent as quickly as possible. Because excessive ground grappling limits an individuals ability to see their surroundings, Jui Jitsu is better suited for one-on-one combat situations in which one does not have to worry about multiple attackers. For situations in which an individual is attacked by multiple attackers, Krav Maga is better suited.
