Lacrosse Attack Tips That Work
Looking for a few lacrosse attack tips that work? Attack men play a vital role in the sport of lacrosse. There are always three attack men on the lacrosse field at all times. As an attack man, your job is to protect the middlemen. You want to keep the defensive players away from the middlemen, as this will give your team the opportunity to move around the field, pass the ball to the midfielders and score. It takes a great amount of skill to be a lacrosse attack man because the defensemen will have a longer stick. The below lacrosse attack tips, if you choose to implement them, should help you take your game to the next level.
- Work Your Defenseman. One of the best lacrosse attack tips is to work your defenseman. You will always have a defenseman covering you in lacrosse, and you want to keep that defenseman busy. Being an attack man in lacrosse takes a great deal of stamina on your part because you want to constantly be moving. If you are constantly moving, the defenseman will be constantly moving with you, which forces him to focus on you instead of who has the ball.
- Help your Teammates. The three attack men that are on the lacrosse field need to be a cohesive unit to be effective. Lacrosse is a team sport, so you can't just focus on your own game. Keep an eye on the other two attack men that are on the field with you. If you notice that the player is unable to dodge the defenseman, you should move in, along with the other attack men on the field, to help him or her out.
- Control the Ball. Controlling the ball is a lacrosse attack tip that your coach probably focuses on all of the time. Controlling the ball means that as an attack man, if you see a shot is going to be made, back up that shot. By backing up the shot, you are keeping other players away from that offensive player, which gives them the freedom to make their shot. You will also want to back up all passes so you can prevent players from the opposing team from moving in and intercepting the ball.
