Memorial Day Cocktails

To make red, white and blue layered shooters you will need:
- 1/3 ounce grenadine
- 1/3 ounce Blue Curacao
- 1/3 ounce Peach Schnapps
To make red Jell-O shots you will need:
- six ounces red Jell-O
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup light rum
- three oz. paper cups (25)
To make blue Jell-O shots you will need:
- six oz. blue Jell-O
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 3 1/2 cups water
- three oz. paper cups (25)
To make white Jell-O shots you will need:
- six oz. daiquiri flavored Jell-O
- 2 1/4 cups pineapple juice
- 3/4 cup coconut milk
- three oz. paper cups (25)
- Red, white and blue layered shooter. The ingredients and directions for these Memorial Day cocktails will make just one shot. Have several shot glasses available, and make several of them at a time because guests are going to want to try one once they see it. To make, pour each ingredient in separately. First pour in the grenadine, then the peach schnapps, and then the Curacao. Repeat this same process for each shot. The ingredients will stay separated, giving each one a layered effect.
- Red Jell-O shot. To make these Memorial Day cocktails, simply bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Pour the Jell-O powder in a bowl and add the boiling water. Stir until Jell-O is completely dissolved. Now add in cool water water and rum. Pour the finished mixture into 25 individual small paper cups and place in the refrigerator until Jell-O sets firm.
- Blue Jell-O shot. These Memorial Day cocktails are made in the same manner as the red Jell-O shots, except vodka is used instead of rum. Follow the exact directions on how to make a red Jell-O shot.
- White Jell-O shot. Room temperature alcohol should be used for these Memorial Day cocktails. To make, bring fruit juices to a low simmer and remove from heat. Pour Jell-O powder into a bowl and add the rum. Slowly pour in the fruit juice mixture and stir until the Jell-O is completely dissolved. Pour the finished mixture into individual paper cups and chill until set. The chilling process can take up to six hours, so be sure to plan ahead.
