The Mile High Blues Music Festival is an occasion that consists of two days of festivities. It was first celebrated in the year 2009 on August 8 and 9 in Denver, Colorado. The Mile High Blues Music Festival was yet another successful musical celebration in Colorado. The festival was organized by the Mile High marketplace and consisted of many organized activities.
Most special feature of the festival was the appearance of Grammy winning blues artists. The festival began with a performance by Ryan McGarvey and a locally known group, Delta Sonic. As the festival set about the audience got mesmerized by the captivating music. The next performance was by Luther Allison’s son, Bernard Allison. His songs were written by Curtis Salgado. Accompanying him was lead guitarist Jimmy Thackery.
Rising blues star of 2009 Eden Brent also sang a few of his numbers in the Mile High Blues Music Festival. To make festival even more catchy, national stars were arranged to perform. The stars included Grammy winner John Hammond, who captivated the audience in awe. Reba Russell gave her debut on this day, a rising singer and songwriter from Memphis.
Internationally known harp player and internationally ranked blues singer Rick Estrin also had a guest appearance in the festival with his gang The Nightcats. Their band was formerly known as Little Charlie and the Nightcats. All of these performances and a wonderful combination of Colorado weather adorned by barbecue food and free beer took the audience to utopia.
