5. Springfield, Missouri - Springfield is a great place to travel if you are into outdoor adventure. The city is full of beautiful scenery and historical treasures. They have 92 parks that are lined with trails and springs. Considering spending an afternoon at Fantastic Caverns, which is a ride through cave. Besides that, you can go canoe, hike or fish. You can even make a stop at a Route 66 marker that runs through the city.
