Motorcycle Cornering Techniques

Here are a few motorcycle cornering techniques for you. There are no "real" techniques for motorcycle cornering as people usually develop their own techniques. So, here we have developed a very safe technique, a moderately safe and fun technique, and a technique that completely relaxes you. Usually, a beginner would use the safest technique, and move up from there.
  1. Safe cornering technique. Here is a technique that only worries about making your corners as safe as possible. Try to move at a slower speed, maybe even slower than the current speed limit. Look ahead to find some corners up in the distance to plan ahead. Plan on how to approach the corner and how fast to be traveling when on the corner. Also, you should draw a mental line to follow when you're approaching the corner. This will definitely help you with going with the flow. Remember, this technique is all about safety. Once you become good at cornering, feel free to move onto other techniques.
  2. Moderately safe technique. Use this technique if you think you're experienced enough to disregard safety a little bit. Try to maintain a good speed when cornering. You could think about going a bit above the speed limit. However, try not to get faster than with what you are most comfortable with. Also, you'll still need to look out for corners in the distance. You don't want a corner to suddenly appear, leaving you helpless. You may also still need to draw a mental line for you to follow, but since you're more experienced you won't need to spend so much time drawing the line and following it. Just follow it generally. You don't need to follow the line exactly.
  3. Relaxed technique. In this technique, feel free to travel at a higher speed, whatever you're comfortable with. Just don't go too fast to get the cops interested in you. Also, lean in at an angle that you're comfortable with. However, one think that you shouldn't forget to do is looking ahead for corners. This is just one thing you should so to keep yourself safe.. You also may not need to draw mental lines now! Go with whatever you think will make you happy and will relax you! Just don't forget to keep yourself safe a bit. Most importantly, have fun!
