Move A Pool Table

Depending on the size of your pool table, knowing how to move a pool table may be extremely important when purchasing one. Moving a table should be done with great precaution; there is a reason that bars seem to never move them.  Pool tables can weigh anywhere from 350 to 800 pounds depending on their materials and their size.

To move a pool table, you may need:

  • Furniture sliders
  • Friends
  • Money
  1. Don't move the table unless it must be moved. It may be better to find a way to not move the table to ensure the pool table stays the same during the move. There is a great chance that shooting will be dramatically different on the pool table after it is moved.
  2. Get a pool table with wheels or attach furniture sliders. The best thing to do before you have the pool table in its initial location is to buy one with lockable wheels or attach furniture sliders to be able to slide the table around the room. You will need help when attaching the furniture sliders to eventually be able to move the pool table.
  3. Get as much help as possible. If the pool table weighs up to 800 pounds, it may be necessary to get from eight to twelve people over to help move it. Have everyone spread out across the table to ensure all the weight isn't lifted by one person.
  4. Disassemble and reassemble. Most pool tables are assembled in someone's house by professional pool table specialists. The easiest way to move a huge pool table is to disassemble it and reassemble it in another room or location. This may be best to be done by professionals but can also be done by any individual.
