No Carb Recipes

No carb recipes are simple to make and take very little fuss. What foods have no carbs? Most meats and fish have no carbs and so does eggs. Most oils have no carbs and some herbs also. Some miscellaneous foods like parsley, horseradish, lettuce, mushrooms and watercress have no carbs either. To make recipes with no carbs, just use any of the above foods. You will be surprised how simple your meals can be with no added mess in your kitchen.

In order to make no carb recipes, you will need:

  • Meat, chicken or eggs
  • Oil or butter
  • Parsley, mushrooms, lettuce or watercress
  • Herbs and spices

1. No Carb Egg Omelet  This egg omelet is very easy to make and has zero carbs. Eating meat for breakfast may get boring, so try this very simple omelet tomorrow.

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 small handful parsley, chopped fine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions:

  1. Place the eggs in a bowl and beat with a fork. Melt the butter in a small skillet.
  2. After the butter is hot, add in the eggs. Tilt the skillet so the eggs are spread out evenly.
  3. Add in the chopped parsley and spread evenly over the eggs. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Using a rubber spatula that is heat resistant, check to see when the eggs are brown on the bottom. Flip the eggs over and brown slightly on the other side.
  5. Fold the no carb egg omelet over. Serve this omelet with some wedges of iceberg lettuce.

2. Whole Baked Chicken  This recipe is extremely simple to make and seasoned with the flavor of rosemary. Remember to use fresh herbs when looking for no carb recipes.  Some packaged spices may contain additives.  

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • Aluminum foil

Directions:

  1. Wash the chicken well and pat dry with some paper towels.  Brush the melted butter all over the chicken, inside and out.
  2. Season with  the salt, pepper and rosemary.  Place in a baking dish and add in 1/2 cup water.
  3. Cover the entire dish with aluminum foil.  Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for approximately 45 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil and put the chicken back in the oven to brown.  Cook the chicken until the skin is golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and cover the chicken again with the foil.  Let the chicken rest for 15 minutes before slicing, hmmmmm!

3. Grilled T-Bone Steaks with Mushrooms  There are many grades of steaks that you can use in this recipe.  You can use sirloin, rib eye and T-bone to get the best flavor. Of course you can use any cut you choose, but these are the ones that will taste the best.

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 1/2 pound T-bone steak, fat trimmed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup of button mushrooms, with the stem removed

Directions:

  1. Light the grill one hour before ready to grill the steak.  When the grill is poker red hot, place the steak on the grill.
  2. Season the steak on both sides generously with salt and pepper.  While the steak is grilling, prepare the mushrooms.  Heat the oil in the pan.  Slice the mushrooms into thin slices.
  3. Add the mushrooms and reduce the heat to medium.  Cook the mushrooms until done and soft.
  4. Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper.  When the steak is done to perfection, remove it from the grill.
  5. Place aluminum foil or a lid to cover the steak.  Allow the steak to rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Add the mushrooms to the top of the steak and serve.  This no carb recipe will make you want to diet for the rest of your life.
