Nose Bleeding Causes

If you get bloody noses, you should learn about nose bleed causes. A bloody nose is usually nothing to worry about. At some point, most people will experience a bloody nose especially if you live in a dry climate or get hit in the face. If you are experiencing repeated episodes of a bloody nose, you should make an appointment with your doctor. Here are some common causes of nose bleeding.

1. Allergies. Allergies are one of the most common causes of nose bleeds. If you suffer from allergies, the mucosal membranes in your nose can become dry and/or irritated. These irritations to your nose can cause bleeding. The bleeding you experience might be significant or your might just get a bloody nasal discharge. If your nose bleeding is a result of allergies, the symptoms are not a cause of concern.
2. Trauma to the nose. Trauma to the nose is an obvious cause of nose bleeding. Trauma to the nose does not have to be limited to getting punched in the face or having a football thrown at you. Trauma to the nose can include anything you put in it (e.g. tissue, nasal sprays) which could irritate the lining and cause bleeding. If the cause of your bleeding nose if trauma, this problem is obviously easy to fix.
3. Blood disorders. Sometimes blood disorders can cause nose bleeds. If your blood is not clotting properly, this could cause a bloody nose. Many blood disorders can impede the clotting process and many of the disorders are genetic. Some examples of clotting disorders that could cause a bloddy nose include Hemophilia and Factor II deficiency.
4. Certain drugs. Some prescription and over the counter drugs can cause nose bleeds. This occurs because some drugs, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications cause your blood to become thinner. When this happens, it takes longer for your blood to clot. This can result in a bloody nose.
