Orlando TV Stations
There are several Orlando TV stations in the state of Florida. Most of the stations cover the mid-Florida areas. These stations are very informative and cover a wide variety of news, sports, and local programming.
- WKCF-18-CW. WKCF-18 is owned by Hearst Television Inc., and started its operations on air in 1989. Company executives provide television services in Daytona Beach, Orlando, Melbourne, and Central Florida.Viewers can expect to find retro TV series and box office hits on this channel. It is also common for viewers to see Orlando Magic games and award winning films on WKCF-18.
- WKMG – 6. WKMG, a CBS affiliate, is the first news station to broadcast as an Orlando TV station. The local 6 news was once known as Way Down By Orlando (WDBO) in 1954 when it was first seen by the Orlando audience. Today, viewers are being enticed to the network by seeing WKMG6 TV programming live online and covering various events and news. Most of the programming on this channel, will be the shows that you would see on your local CBS station and this network is owned by Post-Newsweek Stations Inc., and its coverage areas are similar to WKCF-18.
- WOFL-35. WOFL 35, a FOX affiliate, is the first independent Orlando TV station. Channel 35 began its operations in 1974. Now, the company prides itself by stating that they will give you the news you need to know and the station serves the metro Orlando area. When watching WOFL 35, you will see the same programming that is on Fox owned networks. WOFL 35 operates more hours of programs than any other network station in Orlando and they are on air for almost 40 hours per week.
- WFTV-9. WFTV, an ABC affiliate, started its operations in 1958. This station is owned by Cox Television and primarily serves the Mid-Florida area. WFTV-9 is one of the highest rated Orlando TV stations in Florida. There are several news reporters and anchors that worked at WFTV-9 and they are now working with the big networks. You can find syndicated television programs on the WFTV-9 station. Some of the stations recent programming has been geared toward interviewing families that have been facing foreclosures and economic difficulties in the Orlando area.
- WRBW- MY65. WRBW is owned by Fox Television and the station was called Rainbow 65 at one time. MY-65 has been in business since 1994 and its slogan is MY-65. Like other Orlando networks, WRBW offers a wide variety of television programming. You can watch some of your favorite programs on this Orlando TV station. This channel was called the space station because of the various scientific programs that were broadcasted on the station. Right now, WRBW-MY-65 is providing viewers with digital television and of course paid programming is available during certain hours.
