Looking for a quick bio on Shane Carwin, the UFC fighter? If so, you've come to the right place.

Carwin was born in Greely, Colorado in January 4, 1975. This UFC superstar, and fan favorite, weighs 265 pounds and it a beast in the octogon. His recognition as an athlete started when he was attending Western State College as an engineering student. During his time at the college, he became a three time NCAA Division two National Finalist and a National Champion wrestler.

Basketball and wrestling were not the only sports he was good at. Shane Carwin also excelled in football by being a two time All-American and the 1996 RMAC Football Player of the year. After graduating Western State with bachelor’s in Environmental Technology, he went on to get a second bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines. While there, Shane Carwin became the assistant coach for the wrestling team. He coached the team for two years before moving on to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

He debuted with the UFC in 2008 against Christian Wellisch. Shane knocked out Christian just 44 seconds into the match. To add insult to injury, Shane’s knockout punch was so strong that Christian Wellisch’s mouthpiece flew across the octagon Carin went on to win his next twelve twelve fights in the first round.

He trains everyday, focusing on a different aspect of the game, wanting to become a well-rounded fighter. His favorite grappling technique is the slam, while his favorite striking technique is anything that connects.
