Quick Intro: History Of Mclaren
Here i a quick intro to the history of Mclaren. Mclaren cars are some of the world’s best cars, but most people do not know what the history of the Mclaren cars are. The Mclaren is made in the UK and they are most famously known for their Mclaren F1. The Mclaren cars were started in 1989 and they have only have had a short history. Mclaren is one of the youngest car companies on the market. Mclaren really has two models: the F1 and the SLR. Mclaren has an amazing reputation concerning carbon-fiber with their cars. Mclaren also has a potential that could become a great challenge to Ferrari.
Mclaren was started by a race car driver known as Bruce Mclaren. Before Bruce was able to create any cars he died in an accident in 1970. Formula One team created the Mclaren F1, the design for the F1 was designed by Gordan Murray. The F1 was rather expensive so in 1996 after the 100th F1 was made the factory closed its doors. Mclaren was almost completely saved by Mercedes Benz in 1999 when Mercedes gave Mclaren around 300 million pounds so that Mclaren could get itself back up and to start on the SLR. Because of this financial transaction Mercedes has about a 40% stake in the company of Mclaren.
Mclaren finally released the SLR in 2003. The SLR did not compare to the F1 that the company had released a few years before so the sales of the SLR fell short of what the expectations for the car. Mclaren may have only a short life span compared to companies such as Ferrari.
