Looking for a quick intro to Jack Nicholson? Actor, producer and film director Jack Nicholson was born John Joseph Nicholson on April 22, 1937, in New York City. He was raised in Neptune, New Jersey, by his grandparents, John and Ethel Nicholson.

In 1954, when Jack Nicholson was 17 years old, he moved to Southern California, where he lived with June, the woman he believed was his older sister. It wasn't until 1974, ten years after June's death from cancer, that Nicholson learned the truth. June was, in fact, his mother, and with typical Nicholson style, he accepted the revelation with a flair that most people only dream of possessing.

From 1954 until 1956, Jack Nicholson worked a series of odd jobs before starring in an episode of "Matinee Theater." In 1958, Nicholson landed his first movie role in "The Cry Baby Killer." And, as the saying goes, the rest was history. Over the next forty years, Nicholson starred in numerous movies, including "The Little Shop of Horrors," "Chinatown," "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "The Shining" and "The Witches of Eastwick."

Jack Nicholson's career didn't stop there, though. It kept gaining speed and moving forward with roles in some well-known movies, including "Batman" and "A Few Good Men." From 2000 until 2007, Nicholson starred in a handful of films, including "The Pledge," "The Departed," "Anger Management" and "The Bucket List." Nicholson can also be seen in the 2010 movie "How Do You Know," which also stars Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson. In total, Jack Nicholson's career has spanned over fifty years, and it doesn't show signs of letting up any time soon.
