A radiologist technician salary will vary from state to state and your level of education. Regardless of where you live, you will definitely be able to make a living as a radiologist technician. Below is a snapshot of salaries from February, 2011.

Radiologist technicians make $31,525.00 at the 25th percentile in the USA. This means that if you earn this much, then you are earning a higher salary than 25% of other people in your field. The 75th percentile is $48,856.00. The lower figure is a typical or higher than typical entry level salary for new radiologist technicians.

There is a high demand for radiologist technicians in the USA. Most of the jobs are in hospitals, although many doctor's offices and imaging centers will hire technicians. Medical clinics also need people to give X-rays.

Becoming a radiologist technician requires training. Some states have licensing programs. In this case, you'll have to find a suitable training program and take a test after you graduate. You can get your training at hospitals and both two year and four year colleges. If you get certified as a technician at a hospital, you can expect the course to take about two years to complete. A four year program will probably earn you a higher salary than a two year program.

Radiologist technicians have varying tasks. The most common tasks are X-rays, MRI's and mammography scans. Medical imaging is not the only thing that you'll be doing as a technician. You may also find yourself helping the nurses and receptionists when they get busy. You will definitely work hard for that radiologist technician salary. If you are fond of busy medical environments, then you may just love your job.
