To make these no bake cookies, you will need:
- 2 cups sugar
- 2-1/2 cups quick oats
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 tbsp. vanilla extract
- Medium sauce pan
- Waxed paper
Start combining your ingredients. In a medium sauce pan, combine butter, cocoa and milk. Once the butter has completely melted, add the two cups of sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it comes to a boil. As soon as the mixture starts boiling, begin stirring consistently for three more minutes. Remove the pan from the heat.
Add the rest of the your ingredients. Stir in the vanilla extract and peanut butter. When the peanut butter is thoroughly mixed in, add the oats. Stir for two minutes and let the mixture cool for fove more minutes.
Lay the no bake cookies out. Using a tablespoon, drop large spoonfuls of the mixture onto the waxed paper. They will slowly start to settle, so space them out about two to three inches to avoid running together. Let them cool completely, for about 30 minutes, before removing. Store the no bake cookies in an air tight container or serve them to friends and family.
- You can add one cup of finely chopped nuts and reduce the oats to 1-1/2 cups for a crunchier snack. Or add a handful of miniature marshmallows for a sweeter, gooey no bake cookie.
