Restore Iphone From Backup
After deleting everything on your cell phone, you will need to restore your iPhone from a backup file. When you do this, you are essentially restoring all of the apps, music and videos that were on your phone before you wiped its memory. Restoring your iPhone helps if you are encountering a lot of errors and freezing; you would delete everything from the phone’s memory and then restore from the backup.
To restore an iPhone from backup, you will need:
- iPhone
- iPhone USB cable
- iTunes
- Open iTunes on your computer and connect the iPhone to your computer. Use the iPhone USB cable to connect your phone to the computer. ITunes still has all of your music, videos and apps stored on it, as well as the backup file you created. When you open iTunes, you are prompted with options to setup your iPhone.
- Click “Restore from the backup of...” and choose your backup file. The “Restore From Backup” option should appear automatically after connecting your iPhone to the computer. Most likely, you will want to choose the most recent date; this will have the most up-to-date backup file available. It is like you are setting up your iPhone all over again.
- Wait for the backup to transfer to your iPhone. Do not attempt to open anything on your iPhone or download anything new from iTunes or the App Store. You want to ensure that the backup is restored successfully to the iPhone.
If you do not want to restore your iPhone from a backup file, you can choose “Set Up As New iPhone” in iTunes when prompted.
