He finally ended up in the group at age 13 and toured with them for 5 years–until he reached the age limit of 18 years of age and had to go out on his own.
Shortly after releasing a few solo albums at the end of the 1980's and early 1990's, Ricky Martin went to Mexico to appear in a Spanish language telenovela. This became so popular that he soon moved to Los Angeles to pursue both a singing and acting career. Once in Los Angeles, Ricky Martin acted on the soap opera "General Hospital." The young pop star and actor was a hit on "General Hospital."
This actually led to him getting a break as a pop star in the United States and his writing, recording and international stardom with "Livin' Mi Vida Loca."
