Some of her tattoos are representative of her unhealthy relationship to former boyfriend Chris Brown. The rest of her tattoos are done pretty tastefully given that she has more than a few of them. 

1. Tough girl skull Yeah, Rihanna has a skull tattoo. The skull has a pink bow on it and somewhat softens the edginess a skull gives off. Or at least some people will see it that way. It is a smaller tattoo, so that could also give it a slightly softer appeal for some. It's not larger and in your face.
2. Musical notes Rihanna likes music so much she had a musical note tattooed on her ankle. It is very small, and there is actually two of them. The small size gives them almost a sexy, softer look to them.
3. Rihanna sign Rihanna has a tattoo of her sign. She has a Pisces sign tattoo behind her ear. Actually, it's not confirmed if it's her sign or not, but she seems to like it enough to have it behind her ear. The tattoo is usually hidden behind her hair depending on it's length.
4. Words of expression Rihanna has the word love tattooed on her finger. Rihanna had the tattoo written in regular tattoo writing with a slight cursive look to it. The tattoo is on the inner side of her middle finger and is not very easily seen. There are some photos where you can see it, although it can be hard to see.
