Aside from downloading paid ringtones, it is also possible to install free ringtones into the IPhone as long as the format is ".m4r." This means that virtually all songs available can be used as ringtones. Despite the long list of choices, there are some categories of ringtones that stand out.

  1. Classical music ringtones. Nothing spells sophistication and class as well as having classical music ringtones for the IPhone. Timeless classics such as “Radetzki Marsch,” “Symphony #5,” “4 Seasons: Spring,” “Carmen,” and many more can turn the IPhone into a pocket opera theater.
  2. Zen-inspired ringtones. In spite of a hectic lifestyle, Zen-inspired ringtones for IPhone can help users calm down. Instead of adding trouble by startling the user with a high-powered ringtone, Zen-inspired ringtones brings about a sense of relaxation.
  3. Anime ringtones. A lot of anime buffs would surely beef up their IPhones with ringtones from their favorite anime. With the wide range of choices from various anime series, the anime geek will have a field day.
  4. Subtle ringtones. Subtle ringtones can notify the user of an incoming call while staying discrete. Subtle ringtones include sounds from wind chimes, echoes, bells, and distant towers.
  5. Old movie theme ringtones. Best selling movies have great themes that can be used as ringtones for IPhone. Memorable movies such as “Rocky,” “James Bond,” “Airwolf,” “Superman,” “Robocop,” “Knightrider,” and “Star Wars” have such great themes that make movie buffs nostalgic with their IPhones.
  6. 1980’s cartoons ringtones. Some of the best retro music can be found from cartoons from way back the 1980’s. Some of the best cartoons with the best themes include “Wheeled Warriors,” “Visionaries,” “Spiral Zone,” “Mask,” “Mighty Orbots,” “Galaxy Rangers,” and “Pole Position.” It’s a festival of synthesizer rock, new wave, and glam rock!
