Ryan Phillippe Abbie Cornish Split

In February of 2010, Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish split up after dating for almost four years. Rumors swirled that Abbie left Ryan because he was being unfaithful, although that claim has never been substantiated and he does not seem to have a new girlfriend. Of course, tales of Ryan's infidelity causing the split between Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish are not difficult to believe, since that behavior is allegedly what broke up his first marriage to Reese Witherspoon.

Ryan met Abbie while filming “Stop-Loss" in 2006. Their new friendship led to the demise of his seven-year relationship with Witherspoon. The pair had been together since 1999 and had two children together, Ava, age 10, and Deacon, age 6. Despite the media circus surrounding the Hollywood couple's divorce, Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish stayed together until the April 2010 break-up, when Cornish issued a press release announcing the end of their relationship.

It looks like since Phillippe and Abbie's split, the pair have both moved on, and reports are flying about new love interests for both parties. Abbie has been linked to Josh Hartnett, reportedly canoodling in a New York bar in April. Ryan had reportedly been dating "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit model Jessica White. As recently as May 11, online tabloids were gossiping about Ryan's PDA with a mysterious brunette.

Ryan told Ellen DeGeneres on an appearance on her talk show that since his split with Abbie he has been dating. He also said, "My emphasis right now is on the kids and career. I think it would be good for me to be single for a little bit. Yeah, find some focus, some personal focus." As for his relationship with Reese, Ryan told Ellen, "Things are great. It is so important as divorced parents to keep that connection. It makes the kids feel better that the parents are interacting. We go to all the school events together, and we're there for each other."

Could it be that his close ties to Reese are part of the cause of the split between Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish? No one but the couple knows for sure.
