- Internet access
- Begin at the main website: Craigslist.org. This will bring up all of the options to search Craigslist by state. They are each listed in alphabetical order to make finding the right location a little easier. Take your time searching for the right place.
- Choose a city. Once you search Craigslist by state you need to narrow things down. Figure out which city or town you want to check out. Most of the major metropolitan sections of a state are listed. Some areas that are close together are grouped together on the listing.
- Narrow down the search a little more. You have been able to search Craigslist by state and now by city. Now you need to find out what exactly you are looking for. There are several different options to choose from. There are personal ads, job ads, pet, car and furniture listings. - You can also search Craigslist by state with a menu on the right hand side of the screen. The right hand column lists cities that are nearby the one that you are currently located in. Underneath those options you will see a tab for “US cities” and “US states.” When you click “US states,” a list of all states will appear and you can make your selection.
