These shoulder-length hairstyles can help you achieve a different look while styling your hair in a unique and different way. Each of these styles are great for a number of occassions and are perfect if you need a style that stands out. You won't be disappointed in these great styles.

  1. Even and Parted This hairstyle is cut straight around the head, anywhere below the ears. It's a shoulder-length hairstyle that is often, although not necessarily, paired with bangs. This style can be worn curly, wavy or straight; although, it is cleanest if worn straight. The cut can be modified in many ways, with a few layers or side rather than mid parting. The style is quite diverse and is particularly great if you want a clean-cut look. Its a great style to give you a unique and youthful look.
  2. Ponytail Shoulder-length hair is just long enough to pull off a ponytail. This is a great shoulder-length hairstyle for men and can be done with nothing more than a hair tie. However, if you want a cleaner look, gel or hairspray can help keep back frizz and flyaways. This has been a common with Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and David Beckham. It can even be modified by having only half the hair put up in a ponytail, giving an option to leave half the hair down. It's a great look to show style without having to make a drastic change in hair length or cut.
  3. Loose and Messy This is a shoulder-length hairstyle that is also great for both men and women. It can be achieved with hair gel or a strong styling product, such as the Axe Whatever Messy Look Paste. It can be enhanced with random braids or feathers to give it a more tribal, messy look. This is definitely a quick style that's easy to wear whether you have straight or curly hair. You may even be able to pull this look off without any product at all just by keeping your hair in an actual unkept condition. You can make it look clean-messy by having only a few strands out of place or you can go extreme and frizz up your entire set of hair. Either way it's a great look that you can personalize to your liking.
  4. Flip This hairstyle was popular in the 1960's, sported most notably by Jackie Kennedy Onassis. It traditionally involves hair flipped outward at the shoulders.  It is not a common shoulder-length hairstyle today; however, it has been modified to a modern version for men. Contemporary hair flips have straighter wispier styles, with only a suggestion of an outward flip. For those that do choose an obvious outward flip, several strands are kept straight down towards the front of the hair. If you are a looking for a retro style, this may be the one you'll want to look into trying. You can accentuate the look with long, layered bangs that are given a hint of an outward flip as well.
  5. Uneven An irregular and uneven cut with several layers can give your hair a contemporary and youthful edge. This is not an easy cut, as a poor job can make you look like a toddler cut your hair. To achieve a stylish uneven and jagged hairstyle, you should research several photographs and consult with a talented stylist. This style is ideal for individuals with straight and thin hair. It can also be paired with bangs to add even more dynamic edge to your shoulder-length hairstyle.
