Shrimp And Rice Recipes

Shrimp and rice recipes are a necessity for any chef; from novice to expert. Shrimp and rice compliment each other perfectly since both ingredients take on flavors of stronger ingredients, such as spices. When paired together, shrimp and rice make delicious dishes. These shrimp and rice recipes range from basic zesty flavors to spicier flavors for a tougher palate. No matter what your taste preference, these shrimp and rice recipes are sure to please.

For this recipe for shrimp and wild rice, you will need:

  • 1/2 cup thinly-sliced onion
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup thinly-sliced green pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound shrimp, cooked and shelled
  • 2 cups wild rice, cooked
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  1. Sauté the onion, green peppers and mushrooms in butter over medium heat for eight minutes or until the butter is melted and the vegetables are soft. Stir in the Tabasco sauce and the Worcestershire sauce. Add the rice and shrimp to the vegetables.
  2. Melt two tablespoons of butter in a separate skillet over high heat until the butter is melted. Add in flour. Add the chicken broth slowly, and stir until the sauce is smooth. Add to the shrimp mixture.
  3. Place in a buttered casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for thirty minutes.

For this garlic shrimp and rice recipe, you will need:

  • 3 cups white rice, cooked
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 pound shrimp
  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the salt, pepper, ginger, garlic and sunflower seeds.
  3. Remove from heat and pour over rice.
  4. Mix the rice and shrimp.

For this oriental rice recipe, you will need:

  • 15 large shrimp, raw
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups brown rice, cooked
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup asparagus, diced
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1/2 cup carrot, diced
  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add all vegetables and cook until they become tender.
  3. Add the shrimp, garlic, soy sauce and Tabasco.
  4. Cook until the shrimp are done.
  5. Serve the shrimp over rice.
