Having a few soup recipes for slow cookers creates more alternatives. Many people prefer to wake up in the morning and prepare that night's dinner. This way, they feel full of energy, instead of coming home exhausted in the evening and  having to cook. A slow cooker can be a very useful kitchen appliance. People who use slow cookers regularly find them very convenient and a great time saver.

 Chicken and Potato Soup Recipe For Slow Cookers

  • 1 lb. chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 3 potatoes, peeled, and cut into small cubes
  • 1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (10 oz.) enchilada sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (4 oz.) green chili peppers, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) chicken broth
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 can (15 oz.) corn
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  1. Place the shredded breast chicken, cubed potatoes, tomatoes, enchilada sauce, onion, green chilies, and garlic into a slow cooker.
  2. Pour in the water and the chicken broth.
  3. Add the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in the corn and cilantro.
  5. Cover, and cook on low for six to eight hours.

 Lentils Soup Recipe For Slow Cookers

  • 2 cups lentils
  • 1 can (14 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • ¼ tsp. ground cumin
  • salt and pepper
  1. Stir all the ingredients in a slow cooker.
  2. Cook on medium heat for eight to ten hours.

Split Pea Soup Recipe For Slow Cookers

  • 2 cups green split peas
  • 8 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 potatoes, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • ½ tsp. oregano
  • salt and pepper
  1. Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker.
  2. Cover, and cook on low for at least four hours, or until peas are soft.

Super-Minestrone Soup Recipe For Slow Cookers

  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 4 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp. fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • ½ tsp. ground cumin
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 cup green beans, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ cups elbow noodles
  • salt and pepper
  1. Combine all the ingredients (except pasta), in a slow cooker.
  2. Cook on low for six to eight hours.
  3. Add the pasta, and cook on high for 30 minutes.

Rice And Lentils Recipe For Slow Cookers

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup lentils
  • 1 tbsp. curry powder
  • 3 1/2 cups vegetable broth or water
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 vegetable boullion cube
  • salt and pepper
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker.
  2. Cover, and cook on low for four to five hours.
