Splenda Dangers
Are you aware of the Splenda dangers? Splenda, of course, is a leading artificial sweeter. It is used by many in place of sugar to help reduce the number of calories they are ingesting. It is also known as Sucralose. However, recently there have been many reports about Splenda dangers such as:
- It is not a natural product: Splenda is not a natural product such as sugar, which is a plant product. It is made up of several chemicals such as trityl-chlorine, acetic and methanol.
- Chlorine is considered a carcinogen by many: There may be many Splenda dangers. However, the worst danger by far may be the fact that Splenda has chlorine in it. Many health researchers believe that chlorine is a carcinogen, a cancer causing agent. This is the same ingredient that has been used in poisonous gas, disinfectants and pesticides.
- Chlorine can also cause physical side effects: In some people the presence of the small amount of chlorine in Splenda can cause some physical side effects such as: stomach bloating, gas, diarrhea, skin irritations, coughing, wheezing and even some serious side effects such as heart palpations.
- The misconception that you won’t gain weight while using Splenda: Many people believe that Splenda has no calories. This is not true. Splenda in fact contains 96 calories per cupful. Over time, this can cause people to gain weight, if they eat enough of the product or use it in their cooking.
Before you decide to use Splenda in place of sugar, you may want to consider some of these Splenda dangers first.
