If you are looking to lower the sugar intake in your daily diet, try Splenda recipes desserts. A meal is just not complete without a sumptuous dessert to enjoy, but dessert is better when it is eaten guilt free. Splenda takes the guilt out of desserts with its special white sugar blend and brown sugar blend sweeteners.

Just like Mom’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

To make just like mom’s chocolate chip cookies, you will need:

  • 2¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ cup SPLENDA Sugar Blend
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  1. Remove the butter from the refrigerator to soften. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Dry ingredients. Measure the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar. Place the softened butter in a bowl. Add SPLENDA, brown sugar and vanilla and cream together with an electric mixer until the ingredients are smooth.
  4. Make cookie dough. Add the eggs one at a time to the creamed butter mixture and blend with an electric mixer. Use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl during mixing. Slowly add the flour mixture and mix by hand with a large spoon until the flour is fully absorbed. Stir the chocolate morsels into the cookie dough.
  5. Bake the cookies. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for ten minutes until golden brown. Cool on a wire cooling rack. Makes three dozen cookies.

Coconutty Bars

To make coconutty bars, you will need:

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ¼ cup SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend, packed
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1½ cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Make the crust. Combine the softened butter, ¼ cup SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend, 1 cup flour and mix into dough. Gently pat and press the dough into a 13 by 9 inch baking pan. Bake for ten minutes and remove from the oven.
  3. Make the filling. Combine eggs, ¼ cup SPLENDA Brown Sugar Blend, vanilla, 2 tablespoons flour, and baking powder in a bowl and mix well.Stir in the pecans and coconut. Spread the filling over the partially baked crust and bake for twenty minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

Tips:

Artificial sweeteners are an important sugar substitute in a diabetic diet. However, some artificial sweeteners are known to cause blood sugar spikes. Test blood sugar after consuming SPLENDA to make sure it is safe for diabetic use.

Warning:

Baked goods made with SPLENDA cook quicker and should be checked after five minutes of baking.
