Springboard Diving Training Tips

By keeping some basic guidelines in mind, you can learn about springboard diving training tips. While springboard diving is a relatively rare sport, this doesn't mean that the individuals who participate in it are any less competitive. In order to be a great springboard diver, it is essential that those who are interested in the sport put in plenty of time and practice. Most coaches recommend that their athletes devote at least thirty minute to the sport each day. In addition, more time may be needed during the regular season.

  1. Increase muscular strength. In order to be a great springboard diver, it is essential that you have plenty of strength, especially in the lower body. Athletes should plan to lift weights at least two to three times per week in order to maximize training results.
  2. Learn the basics of diving. In order to learn to dive properly, you must take lessons from someone skilled in the sport. In most cases, these individuals can be found with relative ease through referrals from coaches and community members. Athletes should start as young as possible in order to achieve optimal results.
  3. Practice. As with other sports, learning how to be a good springboard diver takes time. Athletes should be willing to devote at least thirty minutes each day to the sport, and even more time during the regular season. Because of these time requirements, athletes should make sure that they have a genuine interest in and love for the sport. Those who have only minimal interest in it should look for another activity.
