How to carry off street style, a medium that is catching fire especially on the Internet is fun to learn.  Various street style blogs have been popping up all over.  Contrary to popular belief, street style is not hard to achieve.  All you need is some guidance.  Here are some steps on how to show off your own street style.

Determine your aesthetic. Everyone has their own unique style.  This is what makes street style so interesting and appealing.  It is a celebration of personal style.  Think about what you like and what your favorite pieces are to wear.  In addition, think of the kind of person you want to be perceived as.  Also, you don't have to stick to one "signature style".  Fashion, especially street style, is all about experimentation.  Once you determine your style, however, it is easier to move forward.

Gather up your basics. Basics are key to building a sophisticated, strong outfit.  Some good pieces to invest in are a trench coat, a blazer, dress pants, a dress shirt, and maybe a cardigan.  Of course, there are other items that you might consider necessary as well.

Pick up some show-stopping accessories. Well-fitting basics are not enough to evoke serious street style.  In the end, it all comes down to the details.  Also, accessories can truly show off your style.  Ties, hats, shoes: these are all good, street style accessories to show off your looks.

Don't be afraid to take risks.  It's true, personal style is often about comfort.  But to be truly experimental with your street style, stepping out of the box is necessary at times.  Besides, you might discover a look you would have never thought of before.

Be confident.  You could be wearing a classy, sophisticated street style look and look terrible without confidenceThere is such a difference in appearance when you wear an outfit with boldness and style than wearing one with insecurity.  It's a cliche for a reason: confidence is one of the best accessories.
