Target Return Policy
Do you need to know about Target's return policy? Target stores allow you to return most merchandise bought in the store with a sales receipt within 90 days either for a refund or an exchange. Some exceptions exist, however. Read on for more details about Target's return policy:
- If you don't have a receipt, the Target customer service representive may be able to verify your purchase if you used a credit or debit card. If not, however, you will not be able to exchange your item without a receipt per Target's return policy.
- All items must be in their original packaging with all accessories and pieces intact. According to Target's return policy, some items cannot be returned for a refund if they have been opened. These include music, movies, video games, software and collectibles.
- Refunds will be given using the same method by which you paid. To return some items under Target's return policy, you may be charged a fifteen percent restocking fee. These include camcorders, digital cameras, portable DVD players and portable electronics.
- Some items bought from Target online can be returned in person to the store. Visit the target website and go to the "Online Returns Center." Fill out the form in the center and select "Target Store Return." If your item does not have this option, it cannot be returned to a Target store. If it does have that option, however, select it and click "continue" to print your in-store receipt. Bring this receipt when you return your item to a Target store.
