Learning some tennis court maintenance tips can prolong the life span of your tennis court, thus saving you money in the long run. The specifics of tennis court maintenance may vary a little bit depending on the specific type of court you have, the local climate conditions and the type of construction material your court is made of. However, there are some general rules of thumb that you can use on just about any type of tennis court for proper maintenance. In this article, we will show you some simple and easy tennis court maintenance tips and tricks.

  1. Invest in a fence. While we understand that fencing a tennis court can be very expensive, it can save you a ton of money in the long run. Fences not only keep out unwelcome visitors, human and animal, but also provide you with other add-ons you can use for daily maintenance.
  2. Consider windscreens. Windscreens not only aid your games, but also ease the task of tennis court maintenance. Windscreens can filter out unwanted debris and materials so that you do not have to sweep them up constantly.
  3. Sweeping is a necessity. It is not an option, you have to sweep at least once a week to keep your tennis court in proper condition. While the frequency of sweeping needs to be adjusted based on the type of court, you will need to sweep nonetheless. Dirt and dust can built up, and they get harder to remove over time.
  4. Fix any open crack as soon as possible. This is especially true during winter. When a crack is open, and water gets in, the water can freeze inside the crack and enlarge it over time. All it takes is one winter, and your crack can be so large that it becomes unmanageable.
