Things To Do In Maine

Looking for some things to do in Maine? You've come to the right spot if you're looking for a few great places to visit while in this New England State. Maine is known for their lobster but that's not all there is to this picturesque small state.

  1. One of the best things to do in Maine is to visit Acadia National Park. Acadia is a stunning park on the coast of Maine and the views of the Atlantic Ocean can't be beat. Scramble down a few of the shorter cliffs and dip a toe in the water. But, beware, it's COLD. Or, if you prefer, hike any of a number of beautiful trails and collect wild blueberries in July.  Or, take a mountain bike and visit some of the historic carriage roads which crisscross the area. Acadia National Park is located in Bar Harbor, Maine.
  2. No visit to Maine is complete without a visit to Bagaduce Lunch restaurant. Winning the prestigious James Beard Foundation's American Classic award, this homespun restaurant almost always has lines of people waiting patiently to order the delicious lobster roll (lobster and mayonnaise on a hot dog bun. Doesn't sound like much but it is). Bagaduce has other things for land lovers but really, if you're not into seafood, don't visit Maine. Bagaduce Lunch: 145 Frank's Flat, Penobscot, Maine.
  3. If you're looking for the very freshest full sized lobster, head over to The Lobster Dock. Built right on the water, you can sit in the sun or under a shading umbrella as you crack the claws and tail of large lobsters which were just plucked from the water. You won't find a fresher lobster in Maine! And, get a pitcher of beer to wash it down. The Lobster Dock is a great place to while away the afternoon. The Lobster Dock: 49 Atlantic Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
