Tips For Installing Car Amplifiers
If you're interested in installing some custom equipment in your vehicle, you may be looking for tips for installing car amplifiers. The hardest decision involved in installing car amplifiers is locating a spot to mount the amplifier and finding a way to keep the amplifier cool. Below are a couple of tips that are sure to make the installation of your car amplifier easier.
- Select a location. In order to reduce interference, the car amplifier needs to be installed at least three feet away from the receiver. Most people install car amplifiers under the passenger seat or in the trunk of their vehicle. If you would like to reduce the amount of work required for installing your car's amplifier, the best location is under the passenger seat. However, if your car amplifier is too large to fit under the passenger seat, your best bet is to install the amplifier in the trunk of your vehicle.
- No matter where you decide to install your amplifier, make sure you use the proper tools. Car amplifiers are mounted using a few basic screws, so mounting the amplifier is the easiest part of the installation.
- Keep your car amplifier cool. If you have ever worked with car amplifiers in the past, then you know the amount of heat that they can produce. Car amplifiers do have built-in fans that are designed to keep the amplifier cool, but those fans won't function properly if they are not given enough breathing space. When you are installing car amplifiers, you need to make sure that there is at least a few inches of clearance around the entire amplifier. If possible, try to keep the wiring that is connected to the amplifier away from the the cooling fans.
