Make the tiramisu recipe Olive Garden makes and enjoy your favorite Olive Garden dessert at home tonight. Tiramisu is an elegant rich Italian dessert made of layers of ladyfingers soaked in espresso and liqueur. When you are in the mood for an exotic cheesy dessert, try the Olive Garden recipe for tiramisu.

To make Olive Garden Tiramisu, you will need:

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 20 to 24 ladyfingers
  • 1/4 cup espresso
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua liqueur
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  1. Prepare ingredients. Remove the mascarpone and cream cheese from the refrigerator and bring to room temperature. Brew the espresso, let it cool and place in the refrigerator to chill until it is used.
  2. Cook with a double boiler. Combine egg yolks, milk, and sugar in the top of a double boiler and mix well. Cook for 10 minutes stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves, the mixture thickens, and turns yellow. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool.
  3. Combine the mascarpone, cream cheese, and vanilla in a large bowl. Use an electric mixer to cream the ingredients together until it is smooth with small lumps. Add the cheese mixture and blend thoroughly.
  4. Combine espresso and Kahlua in a small bowl.  Pour the mixture into a flat dish or plate. Dip the flat bottom each ladyfinger into the mixture one at a time and place side by side in an 8 by 8 inch baking dish.
  5. Assemble the Olive Garden tiramisu. Complete a layer of dipped ladyfingers by lining them up in the bottom of the baking dish. Spoon half of the cheese mixture over the first layer of ladyfingers and gently spread evenly. Make another layer of dipped ladyfingers over the first layer. Spoon and spread the remaining cheese mixture over the second layer.
  6. Finish the Olive Garden tiramisu. Once the tiramisu is constructed, place two teaspoons of cocoa powder in a mesh strainer and dust the top of the tiramisu with the cocoa powder. Place in the refrigerator for two to three hours. Slice into even squares and serve. Serves nine.

Tips/Warnings: To create a double boiler in your kitchen, find a large pot and a metal or Pyrex bowl that will fit inside the pot. Fill the pot with water, bring it to a boil, and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Place the bowl on top of the simmering water and place the ingredients inside to cook. To separate egg yolks for the egg whites, carefully crack the egg shells into two halves over a bowl. Slowly roll the yolk back and forth between the shell halves allowing the egg white to drop away. Place the egg yolk in a separate dish. The ladyfingers will quickly absorb the liquid mixture. Be careful not to over saturate the ladyfingers when dipping them or they will fall apart. Do not add extra liqueur for more flavor to the recipe. It will make the Olive Garden tiramisu runny.
