Learning how to transfer music from iPhone to iTunes can be a bit tricky if not all of the steps are followed. The cool thing about apple products like the iPhone is that you can purchase songs from the device and then transfer then to your iTunes music library later on. This takes away the hassle of buying things from iTunes and then having to transfer them over to your music device just to listen to the songs. Here are some steps that will make transferring songs from your iPhone to iTunes easy.

To transfer music from your iPhone to iTunes, you will need:

  • USB cable
  • iPhone
  • Computer with iTunes
  1. Turn on your computer and start the iTunes program. Wait for iTunes to fully launch and connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable. Once your computer and iTunes recognize the device it should appear in the left side of your ITunes library.
  2. Music that is on your iPhone, but is not in your iTunes library should begin to automatically sync once you connect the device. If this does not happen then you can click on the device in the panel to the left. This should now show you a number of things related to your iPhone. You should now be able to see how much space is left on it and how much space apps, music and other things are taking up on it. Go to the bottom of the screen on the right side and click on the sync button.
  3. In order to fully sync, iTunes will go through three distinct steps. This involves backing up all of the things in your iPhone's music library. If you want to skip this step then click on the small "x" that is located at the top of your screen in the panel right below the iTunes sign. Wait a few minutes for all of the songs to be transferred from your iPhone into your iTunes.

Once it is done you can disconnect your iPhone and begin listening to all of your songs from your iTunes library.
