Transfer Songs From Ipod To Computer
If you have recently bought a new PC or Mac, you may want to learn how to transfer songs from your iPod to your computer. This is important so you can still have your music files on your new computer, especially if you are recycling, selling or giving away your old one. Fortunately, you have more than one option of doing this.
- Download an iPod to computer program. If you have a Mac, download a special program so you can transfer songs from your iPod to your computer. Since Macs are different from PCs, you will not have the luxury of merely connecting your iPod to the computer in order to back-up your files. Pod to Mac is a good option and you can quickly and easily download and install the program on your computer to transfer songs from your iPod.
- Connect your iPod to your PC. Use the USB connector that came with your iPod to do this. The object here is to copy the files from your iPod to your computer's hard drive.
- Wait for the new window to appear. A new window that contains information from your now-attached iPod should appear on your computer. Keep this open, but close iTunes if it suddenly opens, as you do not want it to sync at this time. This is necessary in order to be successful at transferring songs from the device to your computer.
- View the files on your iPod. Click the drive that currently holds your iPod's songs and other files. Navigate through the folders until you locate "iTunes Music." You can then copy and paste the folders to the "My Music" folder on your PC. This is a quick and easy way to transfer files from your iPod to computer.
- Add files to iTunes. Open iTunes. You can now begin to add the albums by going to "File" and "Add Folder" to the program.
