Types of energy changes depending on how it is transformed. The concept of energy changes depending on the area of science being discussed. All energy takes place on varying scales. Large energy and small energy can be found all around the universe.

  1. Chemistry. When energy is used during chemistry, it is referring to substances have a change in their atomic and molecular structure. Whenever the changes in energy occur in chemistry, another substance changes. This energy can come in the form of heat or in kinetic form. When different elements combine together they can also create energy. Chemical energy can also generate light. Any lightbulb that is lit, is an exact reaction to chemical energy.
  2. Biology. In every living organism, there is constant energy. This energy is directly responsible for all growing and living sustainability. Energy in biology means it is stored the cells. These cells have substances such as carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids. All of these substances release energies in the cells that keep organisms thriving.
  3. Geology. In the Earth's interior, energy is a transforming component. This can be seen in mountain ranges, volcanoes, and earthquakes. This is from the thermal energy under the Earth's crust. For example, volcanic lava can create heat. Heat can act as an energy that can create movement and pressure to the tectonic plates. As far as weather elements are concerned, they are results of thermal energy from the sun.
  4. Cosmology. In the universe there are massive amounts of energy. Stars and novas are direct results of astrological energy. In outer space, the different types of energy as so vast, that some haven't even been discovered yet. However, some energy can result in gravitational collapse, stars, and often times nuclear fusion.
