Types Of Martial Arts

When an individual wants to learn how to perform martial arts, he has the opportunity to select from various types of martial arts. It is important that he chooses the style that appeals to him personally and not a Martial Art type that appears stronger. There are many different types to choose from, such as Karate, Aikido, Judo and Jujitsu. Each of these types represents their own characteristics.

  1. Karate, kung fu, jeet kune do and taekwondo. Karate, kung fu, jeet kune do and taekwondo are the usual choice of people who preferred the aggressive nature of martial arts. These types of martial art represent striking types that focus on exerting the maximum force necessary to cause their opponent as much harm as possible. The main strengths of these types of martial arts are physical conditioning, stopping power and overall aggressiveness.
  2. Aikido. Aikido is a type of martial art that concentrates on restraining or disabling an opponent from being able to attack. Aikido is a grappling style of marital arts and is the most defensive. You are taught how to harmonize with your opponents motions and deflect his aggressiveness back on him.
  3. Judo. Judo is similar to the Aikido type of martial art that focuses on restraining and disabling an opponent from an eminent attack. The judo type of martial arts also focuses more on grappling and pinning down.
  4. Jujitsu. Jujitsu is a type of martial art that combines both striking and grappling. When learning Jujitsu, you learn how to pin our opponent, disable him with joint locks, punch him and kick him. Jujitsu is typically favored by professional fighters.
