Types Of Television
Looking for information on the different types of televisions? The most popular types of televisions that are available today are plasma televisions, LCD televisions and DLP televisions. When it comes to purchasing a television, it really comes down to personal preference, as all three of the previously mentioned types of televisions are going to produce a high quality picture.
- Plasma Televisions. Plasma televisions are part of the flat panel class of televisions. You can purchase plasma televisions in sizes that range from 42 inches through 65 inches. Out of the three types of televisions that have been mentioned, plasma televisions offer the best side to side viewing angle. The major downside to plasma televisions is that they are prone to pixel burn-in, especially if you play video games on the television.
- LCD Televisions. LCD televisions are the other type of flat panel televisions that are available. The cool thing about plasma and LCD televisions is the fact that they are wall mountable. LCD televisions are available in sizes that range from 19 inches through 70 inches. If you are looking for a flat panel television to play video games in, the LCD television is a perfect match for you, because they are not prone to burn-in.
- DLP Televisions. The final popular type of television that is readily available are DLP televisions. DLP televisions are also known as projection televisions and they are available in sizes that range from 50 through 73 inches. DLP televisions don't offer the best side to side viewing angle, but they do offer a very good color contrast ratio and black level. DLP televisions are not wall mountable.
