Ugliest People In The World

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder and the charge to make up a list of the ugliest people in the world requires some serious consideration. The film "Shrek" deals with the whole issue of interior versus exterior ugly, so no need to review the moral debate of ugly in this article. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines "ugly" as an offense to human sight or any sense and also morally objectionable. Since nobody wants to see their mug on a list of people offense to human sight, and since one butt-ugly person might make a best-catch list of another person, as in "Shrek," this list of the ugliest people in the world focuses on people who are morally objectionable and offensive. The list could number in the millions, so narrowing the list of the ugliest people in the world to the well-known and the famous narrows the list to an even smaller number. The highlighted also are dead people; no sense riling up seriously ugly living folks.  

1. Adolph Hitler. No surprise here. The terms "Hitler" and "Nazi" are synonymous with ugly and Hitler is the top ugly on a list of the ugliest people in the world. Under Hitler's direction, more than six million people were killed, and he sparked a world war that killed somewhere in the range of 50 to 70 million more people. It's hard to consider any other spot on a major ugly list for Adolph than first place. People don Hitler's signature black mustache when they want to immediately signal ugly. Nuff said. 
2. Pol Pot. This majorly ugly person was the leader of the Khmer Rouge government in Cambodia. He took over the government in 1975 and proceeded to systemically kill people who disagreed with him. We're not talking only about other leaders; this guy killed groups of just folks who made public statements about him. One of his henchmen admitted to killing more than 12,000 people in detention camps alone, so we're talking tragically ugly when examining Pol Pot. Unfortunately, for ugly hunters who demand people be punished for their morally ugly behavior, Pol Pot, aka Saloth Sar, died while under house arrest in Cambodia in 1998. Some historians estimate he was responsible for the deaths of over 2.5 million Cambodians. That qualifies him as a top five player on the most ugly list. 
3. John Wayne Gacy, Jr. While any killer, not to mention serial killer, should make a list of the ugliest people in the world, it's difficult to pick only one for top ugly honors. Gacy raped and killed 33 people, but he makes the ugliest list for also dressing up as a clown. There's nothing uglier than a serial killer dressed as a clown. Think about it. His newspaper moniker was the "Killer Clown." Gacy rampaged ugly from 1972, until he was caught and tried in 1978. His spot on the ugliest people in the world list was also boosted by Time magazine's claim that his crimes qualified him as one of the worst killers of the century. That's some notorious ugly. 
4. And also #5. The Columbine High School Killers. The duo of self-absorbed, upper-income, spoiled high school students failed to deal with their own personal ugliness. They, instead, blamed a host of other people for their problems, including school jocks, their parents, the courts and police, when they were captured for breaking the law on numerous other occasions. Their actions cement their place on the ugliest people in the world list. Their names should be synonymous, since the uglies were intent on going down in history as notorious. Rather than focus on any of their purported high school enemies, the duo simply took aim at any students in the hall and cafeteria, killing thirteen of their schoolmates by the time they were done, according to FBI reports and study of their notebooks. More tragic and useless ugliness.
