If you own an iPhone then you need to know how to use iPhone voice commands. This is a very simple process that involves opening an application on your phone and then saying the correct voice commands to get the iPhone to do what you want.

What you will need:

  • iPhone
  • Voice commands software for iPhone (comes preset with iPhone)
  1. To activate the program on your iPhone to use voice commands, simply hold down the home button and you are ready to talk. After holding the "Home" button on your iPhone and after about two seconds you should hear a beep and you will see on the screen “Coice Control” written.  This screen on your iPhone signals that you can put say the necessary voice commands. You will also see a “cancel” option on the screen to get out of the voice commands program.
  2. Say the command that you want to make your iPhone do. Some commands you can say include “call [name of person] or [number]”, “play music”, or “play artist [name]”. After you say the command, the iPhone will read it back to you and if it correct you can say “yes” or “right” and the iPhone will do it. If it is wrong then you will have to say another command and make the iPhone be able to interpret it.
  3. There are some troubleshooting tips for iPhone voice commands. If the phone can pick up your command properly try talking louder. Also try say your words all the way through and not shortening them. If you have a heavy accent, the iPhone may have trouble distinguishing what you say but if you keep trying it might get it.
