Valentines Day Gifts For Girlfriend

Picking out Valentines Day gifts for girlfriend can be tricky. You don't want to choose a cliched Valentine's Day gift for your girlfriend, such as the standard bouquet of roses or box of chocolates, but you also don't want to go so far left-field that she gives you a funny look or thinks about dumping you. Pick Valentine's Day gifts that are romantic while still being a bit practical. Or, choose gifts for Valentine's Day that are pure fun and have nothing to do with hearts and flowers.

  1. Coupon book. At first glance, it's not that romantic. But giving your girlfriend a Valentine's Day coupon book, filled with coupons for things such as a free car wash, breakfast in bed or her favorite dessert, all prepared by you, is a truly sweet and romantic gesture. Cut the coupon book out of red construction paper and neatly print each "chore" you'll perform on the coupons. Be sure to include a coupon for a free hug and kiss.
  2. Jewelry. Getting jewelry for your girlfriend for Valentine's Day can be a mine field. Just remember two things: stay away from heart shaped anything, unless she's a heart fanatic, and stick with her metal of choice. If you've never seen your girlfriend wear gold, don't get her a gold necklace for Valentine's Day. Keep it simple, too. Don't splurge on the oversized pendant that will remind her of a necklace her grandmother wore.
  3. Manicure and Pedicure. Give your girlfriend a certificate to her favorite nail salon for Valentine's Day. She'll get to spend time getting her hands and feet pampered while you can sit back and relax elsewhere. This is a great gift if you're just getting into a relationship and don't want to do anything too lovey-dovey for Valentine's Day just yet.
  4. Cooking Class. You do everything together, so why not learn to cook. Couples who learn together, stay together. Sign the two of you up for a class at your local culinary school. Choose a somewhat sexy course, such as cake baking or sauteing. If you can, sign up for an introduction to wine or a chocolate making course.
