Any guy with erectile dysfunction should know about Viagra how it works. Viagra is a medicine that is only available through prescription. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Now to understand what Viagra is, one needs to know what it treats. Erectile dysfunction is common among men once they start to get older. What causes erectile dysfunction can be several things; medicine, age, and injuries to the nerves in the penis could all cause erectile dysfunction. It keeps the penis from either remaining erect, or even getting erect in the first place.

To fully understand Viagra, it's also suggested to read about the history of the drug. Viagra has only been on the market since 1998. Now it is one of the most popular brand of medicine to treat erectile dysfunction. It took thirteen years to for Viagra to be developed. It was developed by Pfizer, which is a giant drug corporation.

Now that we understand what Viagra is, and its history, it's time to learn about how it works.  There is a chemical in the body that is called PDE5; this chemical's job is to help blood leave the penis. Viagra works by blocking these chemicals from telling the brain to make the blood leave the penis. Once Viagra is introduced into the body, and the penis is stimulated, the chemical PDE5 no longer can keep the erection from going down. The muscles of the penis will remain calm which also is a key role in maintaining an erection.

Now that Viagra is understood, getting a prescription to some shouldn't see like such a daunting task. Remember to talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about Viagra.
