There are ways to go green that anyone can do. You don't need to become a full blown environmentalist to make a difference. Going green can benefit everyone. Keep in mind that it can also be beneficial to you as many of the ways to go green may save you money. Create a healthier home and a healthier world for yourself and your family.

  1. Unplug all electronics and appliances. One of the easiest ways to go green is to unplug electronics, such as your televisin. They use energy even when turned off. Unplug the television, printers, cell phone charters, toasters and coffee makers.
  2. Buy produce from local farmers. This is a delicious way to go green. For produce to get to grocery stores, it is transported. That results in pollution. By buying produce from local farmers, that pollution is eliminated. An excellent benefit is that it is probably cheaper and better tasting than the grocery store produce.
  3. Leave grass clippings on your yard after mowing it. Letting the grass clippings stay on your yard means that there is less in landfills. The clippings also discourages weeds. This is a great way to go green and prevent weeds at the same time.
  4. Dry clothes out on a clothes line. This isn't an option for everyone. If you have a clothes line, or can put one up, it can save you tons of money. It is also ecologically friendly and green. Wash your clothes as usual, in cold water to be more environmentally friendly. Hang all clothes out on the line to dry.
