West Indian Stewed Chicken Budget Style

  • 1 clove crushed garlic
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped onion
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 whole green pepper chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ can mixed vegetables (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup canned coconut milk (optional)


  1. To begin West Indian stew chicken budget style, Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet or frying pan. Add onion, green pepper, sugar, and garlic and heat until it is a syrup consistency.
