If you’re wondering, "What is the best selling album of all time?", we did the research, and found the answer for you. Pop star Michael Jackson released an album in 1982 titled “Thriller”, and it eventually outsold every other album in existence. The album had a lot of great music, and several popular radio hits.

Before this best selling album was released, the studio decided to put out one of the songs and see how well it would do. The song was called “The Girl Is Mine” and it was a duet with Paul McCartney.  The song eventually became a #1 hit and helped drive sales of the album when it released. Overall, seven songs out of nine on the album eventually made it into the top ten on the billboard charts. Some of the most famous hits from the album include “Beat It” with a solo by acclaimed guitarist Eddie Van Halen, a dark but danceable ballad called Billy Jean, and the title track, which had one of the most elaborate music videos ever created.

Most critics agreed that this best selling album wasn’t just a gimmicky collection of popular songs. The general consensus was that “Thriller” was a truly great album, with a great variety of songs and excellent songwriting. It was a big part of the culture during the early MTV era, and it helped make Michael Jackson into a mega-star beyond anything imaginable.  His next album “Bad” wasn’t released for five years, but it was also a huge Success. After that, he released another solid album called “Dangerous” in 1991, and then the quality of his releases started to dip, as the years between albums gradually increased. His final album “This Is It” was released several months after his death in 2009.
