If you’re asking the question “What to do if girlfriend gave me a year to marry her?” and that is a decision that requires some thought. You may not like the fact that your girlfriend is putting a time limit on getting married. If you are having second thoughts about your relationship, at least you have a year to figure things out.

  1. If your girlfriend gave you a year to marry her, you don’t have to wait that long to decide. Even if you are not happy that she gave you an ultimatum, if you do want to marry her then you might as well go ahead and ask her. This will show her how you feel and may make your relationship better.
  2. If you are not sure about marriage, take some time to decide. Your girlfriend gave you a year to marry her, so if you are unsure about making a commitment see how things go for at least six months. If you and your girlfriend are getting along fine, the extra time you take to make a decision about getting married should not matter.
  3. Talk to your girlfriend if you are mad about her setting a time limit. Find out the reason why she gave you a year to marry her. If she has a good answer then you may not want to give her too much of a hard time about it. Maybe she is being anxious and just wants to get you to commit.
  4. If a year is not enough time to get married, you can still ask her and then extend the engagement. Once you get engaged, your girlfriend knows you want to get married and might stop pressuring you to do it in one year. If you ask her to marry you, sit down with her and decide on the best time of the year to have the wedding. If you can put if off for longer than a year that gives you a lot of time to back out if you decide you don’t want to get married.
