Looking for information on what to do when your girlfriend breaks up with you? Regardless of whether or not the break up was mutual, losing your girlfriend is a traumatic experience. There is no reason to feel like you are alone when your girlfriend breaks up with you, because it has happened to millions of other guys. However, if you take some of the advice that is listed below, the aftermath of breaking up with your girlfriend will be much easier to deal with.

  1. Talk to your friends. When your girlfriend breaks up with you, do not be afraid to talk to your friends about it. Your friends are your support system. It is likely that your friends have had a girlfriend that has broken up with them, as well, so their advice in dealing with these types of situations can be very helpful.
  2. Don't blame yourself. It is all too easy to become depressed when your girlfriend breaks up with you. Do not, under any circumstances, blame yourself for what has happened. Instead of dwelling on the negatives, think about your good qualities and about how you are going to move on with your life. It may sound silly, but there are other fish in the sea, and you will find the perfect girl in due time.
  3. Crying. Too many guys are afraid to cry. Believe it or not, guys are allowed to have emotions, too! If you girlfriend breaks up with you and you hold it in, you are only going to cause more harm than good.
  4. Time. Don't jump right back into the dating scene. If you do that after your girlfriend breaks up with you, every girl that you talk to is going to remind you of your ex-girlfriend. Take a couple of weeks, maybe even a month if needed, and keep busy by hanging out with your friends or taking up a hobby. Once you are emotionally ready, hit the dating scene with full force and put your break up behind you for good.
