What To Get Your Girlfriend For Her Birthday

Not sure what to get your girlfriend for her birthday? Picking out just the right gift for your girlfriend for her birthday can be pretty difficult, even if you've been together for a while. Under no circumstances do you want to get your girlfriend a boring or bad gift for her birthday, but you're not sure what qualifies as a bad or boring gift. Remember her interests and you'll be sure to get her something she loves.

  1. Magazine subscription. It may not sound like the most romantic thing to get your girlfriend for her birthday, but a magazine subscription is a fun present that keeps on giving. Every time she receives a new issue, she'll smile and think of you. Pick out a magazine you think she'll enjoy or renew one she currently subscribes to. Wrap the subscription announcement with a copy of the magazine or with something related to the magazine. For example, if you're giving her a subscription to "Vogue," pair the announcement with something fashionable.
  2. A trip. Plan a trip to a place you know she wants to go. Make it a weekend trip or a week-long vacation if you can afford and you can both get the time off of work. Plan out all the trip's details, such as when, where and what you'll do, before giving it to her, so she doesn't think you forgot to get her something for her birthday and are just saying you'll go on a trip . . . sometime.
  3. Bath stuff, but only if she likes baths. It's a common joke that the "safe" gifts for women are scented candles and bath products. If you don't want to look like a louse of a boyfriend, only give her a scented candle or nice bubble bath product if she regularly soaks in the tub. Make the gift a little more romantic by throwing in some massage oil for an after bath massage.
  4. Fancy Food. Odds are, your girlfriend enjoys some type of expensive foodstuff. Whether it's coffee, chocolates or cheese, give that to her for her birthday. Who knows, she may even share some with you.
