Google Voice is a convenient feature offered through Google, giving you freedom to call anyone, from anywhere. Google Voice allows you to call anywhere in the world for just a couple cents a minute.

Google Voice helps you centralize everything. It gives you one number that you can use with all of your devices. This specific number is tied to you, not a particular device, and is yours to carry wherever you may go. Google Voice can work with mobile phones, desk phones, work phones and VolP lines. Google Voice helps you manage multiple phones, and uses smart technology to route the calls.

In order to get Google Voice, create a Google account. It’s free and easy to use. Make sure your computer has Windows XP, Vista, Mac or Linux as the operating system, and IE6 & above, Firefox 3 & above, Safari 3 & above or Google Chrome for the web browser. Also, Flash 8 and above is required.

Google Voice is only available in the United States, but it can be used to call anywhere in the world. Calls within the United States and Canada are free, and almost every call outside the United States and Canada are less than a dollar a minute. The only exceptions are the Netherlands-Paging at $2.29 a minute, Thuraya at $4.99 a minute and Inmarsat at $6.90 a minute. You can pay for any international calls with American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Paypal, Solo, Visa and Visa Electron.

There are several ways to call using your Google Voice account. First option is to sign into the account, and click on the “Call” button at the top left of the screen. Enter the contact or number, and click connect. Access the site from your mobile device, and click quick call to enter a number. You can also call your own Google number to sign into the system, than make a call through the account.

When someone calls you, you have several options to answer the call. Press 1 to accept the Call, Press 1 and then 4 to accept and record the call, or press 2 to send the call to voicemail. You can answers the calls through the program on your computer, or have the calls directed to your main phone line.
